Well, after this morning I knew I had to blog about this. My daughter calls me, and we're still in bed. YES, we were lazy and slept in late.

"Mom, I've got a problem." I get a sinking feeling in my stomach - two bad choices float to my mind immediately - either a problem with her job or her X. Either is not good.

"I died my hair purple."

What?? Purple. Jeez. Instand relief, followed by "oh boy" reaction and a bit of held in laughter.

Chris had died her hair red several days ago. OK. I saw nothing wrong with it, but she wasn't happy. There were a few streaks of red-gold chunks in it. Last night her and a friend decided to redye it. Chose another dark red color. She said it came out purple.

I told her to cover her hair and come to the house. I tried my hairdresser but they were closed. It was a holiday, bad timing. Simon told me to try the lady who cuts his hair. She was there and willing to take a look, see what needs to be done.
When Chris arrives, I don't see purple, maybe a magneta red. But I take her to the hairdresser. Under the lights in the shop we see that there is a metallic red color on top, plus really dark color underneath, and a mixtured of brown throughout. Really a mess, but just not that obvious unless you look close.:)

Hairdresser decided the best course was to lift the color with higlight then blend in some of the bleach to try and take out some of the red. Then put on a copper red which is what Chris wanted. When she got done it looked great, though I havent' seen it dry yet. They also did a deep conditioner.

Course, when I asked how much Chris could help with the bill, she says she's broke. Typical. I told her she is damned lucky to have such nice parents. $85 to fix purple...magneta screwed up home dye. Sigh.

I did tell her if she messes her hair up again she's on her own. She better not come up with green hair!:) Evil grin.
